    Great day Tile fishing !

Well well well its been about one year since i bought a electric reel.
I have spent hundreds of hours droppoing lead on the bottom with out a bite.
About 2 weeks ago we had a lucky drop and found my first 2 small tiles.

Well i sit and look and look at charts and take all the info i have complied and read over the last year and yesterday was confident we would find fish.
We did not go back to the area we found the 2 small fish yesterday we went exploring.

Mission drop until we find them !

I had Johnseafood on board and my friend Mike C .
These guys worked there asses off dropping and reeling back up time and time again.

Then after about 3 hours and 10 miles of travel we dropped the lines and BAM BAM 2 ON !

What a great feeling to have accomplish something i had been wanting to do for a long time.

We got 11 tiles and could have picked more but as we moved the boat around all day fishing we drug a chum bucket and later in the day a nice 7 to 8 foot long mako came around so we tried to convice him he needed to eat our baits but no luck.

We started trolling in the evening for about 2 hours with not a tug.

But our day was complete cause the box had a nice chunk of meat in it !

So if your ever looking to go put some tile on the table contact me i will be tuna and tile fishing alot and we are always looking for more people.

John, I'm glad I was awake to see the looks on your faces when you came in last night! It almost looked like your were dancing up the dock when you brought those in!! Guess the voodoo sacrifice worked and you got the smell of bananas off the boat!

Congrats on a great catch to you, johnseafood, and Mike Chick!!!

Oh, and thanks for the tilefish!!

    Congrats Man!!!

    Glad you found them!

We tried Thresher fishing yesterday and couldn't even get a nibble. We just got a small bluefish. We got a later start because I figured the weatherman might have known what he was predictiing..........Wrong!

It was a beautiful day on the water anyway. It got a little sporty on the way in. I was gonna give you a shout on the radio, but I figured that if you were tile fishing, you would be out of my range- we were about 16 miles offshore.

    Again, Congrats on the Tiles!

This was probly the most exciting trip yet for me at least. I was dropping and dropping and dropping only to find the wrong bottom. Well we moves about 100 yards and bam there she was. I let out a nice big we got bottom to admin. Shortly after bam fish on. That was the story the rest of the day. The fish were stacked up and like john said we could of caught alot more but had mister mako come play with us for alittle. I caught my biggest to date on a 30 international. I'll tell you what this fish was pissed and didn't want to come out of his home. Probly around 27-30 lbs of pissed off fish. The day was amazing flat calm and the water was beautiful. John yet again you put us on the meat. Crabs will be waiting for you at the store.

Barry we were picking people up at the dock in capemay. It was amazing to see how far the radios were reaching out. We talked to kobey in the washinton all day and it was like he was right next to us. Better luck next time on the whip tails.

John- I should have tried calling. The radio was busy all day too. The water was great, we ran out fast, but when the wind picked up in the afternoon we had a bumpy ride back in.

Nice work guys! And not even a pat on the back or a thank you?

    John,
After I talked to you on the way out I tried calling you back but couldn't reach you. I tried 71 & 5.
You got some good eating there! Try making Crab cakes & instead of using crab, try it with little pieces of Tile! MMMMMM Good!
