Great Barrier Reef Heating Up Black Marlin PIC

This is a pic from Jeff Kirby (Reel Fool) from his time at the GBR in 2007. They catch big marlin down there. Jeff is heading back down next week and will be on a Viking 56 called Spartacus out of Cairns and Lizard Island.

This is what they catch downunder:

I remember this day. Good fish, good fight. Not alot of jumps, but she did jump away from the boat the first time I had leader & had to dump immediately. Shame, I was looking forward to pulling on that one! She pulled hook while in mid-air going away from the boat. That week, we caught 6 fish in 5 days (if memory serves me), with 3 being 800 or better.
Looking forward to getting back on the reef. Will be there next thursday.
