Grady White Going Out of Business

Has anyone heard any reports about Grady White shutting down for good?

I heard from someone that knows 3 employees for the company and it's being talked about.

I have heard that several companies are shutting down until the economy improves, then will reopen. I think Mako did this also. No business, no reason to keep the factory open, dealers still have unsold stock.

I am sure many builders are staying closed at least until the inventory has been reduced in the field. Dealers certainly do not need any more new boats on their lots, and many do not have access to floor plan financing either at this point in time. I have heard that Parker is staying closed for a while until things improve and would think that GW would be in line with that thinking. I hope for the best for all of our NC based builders and they recover, but we all know that there are builders that will not make it in this economic environment.

Guaranty they are not closing down for good but might be taking a little hiatis on production like everyone else.

I have a Donzi that needed a little Warranty love, and the customer service rep told me that Donzi,was only open about 1 week per month or as orders came for boats, I think They build prolines as well. He was off work from October till january.
Scary times for boat builder, buyers etc.

Well I am the one that said this to JT and I got it from a friend who has 3 relatives from the area right around the GW plant and they work for GW......so it is a bad sign for that company and all its boat owners.

DONT BELIEVE THAT FOR ONE MINUTE..

my friend just had a huge problem with a bunch of crap with proline and got on the phone with everyone and they just shipped the boat to florida to cover everything and fix it for him free of charge..

so watch who you talk to on that one banshee!! just an fyi!
