    Good Harpon Dart @ Chatham

I just ran across this and thought I would share, Offshore Bob at South Chatham Tackle, has the halibut dart with the right tip on it. You will also know these guys for their Swim Hooks. I would ask to buy it unrigged and rig it differently, but this is a good local source.

Best of luck to all with the rest of the season.

We have been selling the halibut harpoon darts for a few years at
Capt. Joe Shute's Bait & Tackle in Atlantic Beach.

Due to the diameter of the halibut dart it takes less pressure for the dart to penitrate all the way throught both gill plates and the head. Plus the added length of the halibut dart gives a better hold. It is almost 2 inches longer than a regular harpoon dart.

we use the big brass dart on swordfish down here.

seems to just stop them with the power of a good shot. the halibit one does look cool though. how much are the darts?

The rigged Stainless steel halibut dart with cable is $65, the dart by itself is $36.
