    Golden Tile Fish

Well we left from Stuart bright and early at 6 AM. Went out to a “secret” spot and started to deep drop. This was Rick Bode’s (my father –in-law) first time fishing like this. We used a electramate reel and dropped a series of hooks waaaay down deep. Then after we saw the rod bumping, up it came. Nice Golden Tile Fish. We easily caught or limit and Rick caught the biggest one at 16.5 lbs. Not too bad for a newbie….Hope you enjoy the pics.

all u need to deep drop is a window sash weight, ideally an electric reel, and some seabass hooks and a boatload of clams...... You will bag your limit if u are on top of the suckers.

also, i forgot to add that using braided line is awesome when deep dropping because there is no stretch in the line, and in 100 fathoms u can feel bottom like its 20 feet.... good luck

PRETTY SURE THEY DON'T BITE AT NIGHT BUT CHECK WITH "STRIPER101"
I HAVE CAUGHT THEM UP TO 45LBS WITH HIM AND WE USED CUT UP MACKERAL. BUT I BELIEVE ANY FRESH STRIP BAIT WILL DO. THEY ARE SAVAGES, AND YOU'LL KNOW IF YOU FOUND THEM USUALLY WITH IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF MINUTES ON THE DRIFT.---BUT I AM NO EXPERT, BUT FISHED WITH ONE.

    krisis7,
I recently was photograped along with a sneaky Raccoon, on that very vessel, I had that Electramate Rod & Reel in my hands at my buddy's home.

The vessel is my favorite "Turd V" out there.

I am calling my friend right now to make sure he is still alive, as I cannot imagine him lending his boat to you, with secret numbers and all of his stuff,
without him being mentioned as Captain.

I know he has spent years, countless amounts of money and time, developing his deep dropping skills there.

Typical Shoobie, going fishing on another man's boat, and claiming all the credit for the catch, wow, your thumb works - real skillful

Yes, it was on the "Turd Vee" and of course Mark was the Captain that day. Without him we would never had caught any. I am sorry for not mentioning him. I was in a hurry to post up some pics. Here is Mark with a couple as well.
