going to Quepos CR in may

hey fellas figured that i would post up on here b/c i am heading down to Quepos, CR in may from the 4th to the 9th. i am plannng on surfing for the majority of the time but i want to bring a rod too. are there any spots in or around quepos that can be fished from the beach for snook or anything like that. i was thinking about bringing a shimano 4500 baitrunner and another lighter spinning rod. is live bait easy to find or will i need to bring artificials? just wondering b/c i haven't been there. i did live in tamarindo for about 6 months back in 2002 but didnt do any backwater or surf fishing b/c i had a panga and we would only go offshore. any help would be greatly appreciated.

you could rent a kayak or just try off the beach....when u surf go down to the quepos beach and go all the way down to the right....right before the nude beach and the waves were good there this past week...good luck

Hey Man! Should be some good surf in May. I'll be slowing down by then. Come on up to Hermosa and we can do some surfing and I'll show you where to catch the snook. Quepos is really good for snook fishing. Let me know.
