Fished on my partner Charley's Hydra today along with Bossman Dan. Pretty day, started south of Ocracoke in 70-90' Some bait, not like the other day he went on the Release, but some slicks and bird action. Trolled, and trolled, and trolled - u get the point. Nothing, nada until we hit the Proteus when we were covered up with - Mackerel. Rerig, trolled towards the Dixie Arrow then towards some other wreck when finally at 4:00 the Ridiculously Far Back 130 goes screaming. We start the battle, clearing the other 130s, down to a 1/4 spool have him stopped, start cranking - when slack - broken line at crimp. This fish was a beast. Trolled another half hour then ran in at sunset, harassed 3 quick nice Rock in the inlet and hit the dock.
Tuna Duck got a 70" fish but it was slow on the Bluefin from the radio reports. Still pretty scattered off Hatt, not sure how the Morehead fleet did.
