Can’t say you didn’t have the chance on this one boys – as you might have seen we had two spots come open for today's trip at the last minute and two lucky boys from the Maritime Academy jumped on and had the trip of a lifetime!!!!!

Today’s trip makes is a half dozen giants in the last few days with the capture and release of an 86” giant today. For those that aren't aware Capt. Mark DeBlasio has been fishing our 60' Ritchie Howell out of Oregon Inlet, NC since March 25 and inadditon to tons of 150-200 pound bluefin caught 2 giants on Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday, 1 Tuesday and 1 today.

5 of the 6 giants have been caught on relatively light Penn International tackle with 4 on 50VSW and one on a 16VSX while jigging. 4 have been trolled on ballyhoo and 2 caught on jigs with what we think is the first ever jigged Bluefin of 400 pounds or better caught in the world - it was caught on the Penn International 16VSX.

Today’s fish was trolled early on and caught despite rough conditions. In addition to the giant they boated a 67 inch Bluefin and release 3 others in the 67 – 70 inch range just for fun!!!

We are going to continue to run these trips until the bottom falls out and have dates next week so please call or email if interested.
