Here are a few more details from the ITM show people, bearing in mind that after the helicopter and the jet-ski EVERYONE was expecting a surfboard next........

That's right folks... he did it!!
On Monday, from his surfboard, Matt hooked into a big striped marlin that proceeded to tow him out to sea, with the surfboard at times traveling fast enough for Matt to stand up. To add to the drama, the marlin was towing Matt directly into the path of a container ship. The fight lasted 90 minutes in which Matt was towed six nautical miles (11 kilometres) and only a few hundred meters away from the container ship Matt got the fish alongside and released it to fight another day.

For those not familiar with Matt, he's a TV fishing presenter form North Island, NZ.

Here's a few more pics. Nothing to add really, except interesting to see he's using a Stella - I'd probably have done the same from a surfboard. In fact my two Stellas in NZ were both loaded for stripies - 80lb braid, mono topshot and then a wind-on leader of 250lb braid to a 6' hook-length of 250lb mono. Great from a small 5m tinny - but that's another story.....
