Quite probably the worst day I've had in a tournament.
Bait cooperated just fine. Splashed em and drilled a tuna right out of the gate. Got worked by macks decking one. Bounced off a sail then caught one... Then disaster. Live well pump quit and it was bucket brigade during the long pump replacement process, made worse by kinda choppy seas. The bait was not quality after that...
Learned something today... Don't bother running live ballyhoo when everybody else is working goggle eyes. When we got off on our own we had activity. Macks, triggers and raising sails that weren't eating. When somebody would drift down on us flying the kites and gogs. Not only would they score but even the junk fish would shut off. I moved three times and each time kiters got in on me. Didn't matter. I zagged when I shoulda zigged. I take the blame.
Yeah we have the lead for tuna and mackerel calcuttas but our sail score of one is abysmal and I need to go beat myself up for it...![]()

One king. Baits racing away from fish right into wheels. Birds carying baits over each other. Heavy chop. Guys with kites drifting all over each other in total disregard for each other. Cutting each others fish off. Not pretty... Busted our control trace and started shipping water into motor cowling. Violent weather closing in. Tornado watch etc. Time to head in early for repairs...
