    Galveston, TX??

Hey guys my sister and brother in law moved down to Texas for a couple years do to relocation of my brother's job. Anyway, I am planning to take a trip to see them before the end of May and wondering what type of info you guys have as far as fishing goes obviously. Here's the deal. There neighbor runs (owns) a 54-56ft Viking out of Lakewood County Club into Galveston Bay. To be perfectly honest he has a nice boat but not sure of his capabilities and knowledge (don't tell him I said that). I am a pretty avid offshore canyon guy here in the northeast canyons and would obviously prefer to target the pelagics but may be too late down there. I have already been too long winded. Bottom Line is I want any and all about fishing in that area besides inshore stuff which I am familiar. Thank you all as always in advance for your expertise!!

May in Galveston is fine. It can be a bit breezy but you seem to have a battlewagon at your disposal.

The run will be 100+nm one way. We usually spend a night or two to make it worth it.

Not a lot of secrets as to where to go. You'll probably run to the Flower Gardens reef or one of three floating production platforms off the continental shelf. Feel free to PM me for any other details. Good luck.

I fished out of Galveston a couple years ago in August. We went out for two nights and fished the rigs. I think we were about 110 miles out. Yellowfin weren't around but we caught plenty of blackfins, a couple dolphin, a blue marlin and a couple swords at night. Sounds like you have the right boat to do the trip on.
