I could give you some names of some buddies of mine in Hawaii, but knowing that you're definately only gonna do it for a short time is a hard sell to the se guys. However, it is a great place to get big fish experience. I might know a spot for you on a boat I was on for a season in Australia. I'll call him if you're interested. Just not sure if the timing for the season is right for you.

Hawaii is full of guys who just want to work for a little experience,but believe it or not a bunch of them are clueless. They read an article in Marlin mag, hop on an airplane, and walk the docks.Being that you have experience, you might want to get in touch with theses captains. I called Capt. Jim in Cairns and he said he didn't have any openings,but I know a guy on Kauai. His name is Capt. Kamal on the Konane Star. It's a busy charter boat out of Nawiliwili Harbor. His number is 1(808) 639-0770. He tried to hire me a couple of times and he's always hiring deckhands. Another one to try is Capt. Bill Lawrence who runs Wild Bill's Sportfishing. His number is 1(808) 246-4784. He's really cool and just bought a new boat about a month ago. If you want to go to Kona,try Capt. Brian Wargo on the Bite Me. His number is 1(808)936-3442. Tell him Capt. John that used to fish with Kai Bear sent you. He's cool and I know he just bought 2 more boats. I hope this helps you out some man. I'm not sure if this is the type of gig you guys are looking for, but I heard that the charter boat Wet-n-Wild out of Atlantic Beach is looking for a mate for the 2007 season.

Shark doesn't have the nads to cash in on a world class opportunity that Capt. John has just given him.
Nope, it's too far from mommy.
Yup, catching Grunts on half day headboats is more Shark's pace.
But then Shark would be scared to death wiring a 250lb Allison or 700 lb Hawaiian Blue, so it's really all accademic.
