    Frying Pan BFT report

I did not fish yesterday or today but Capt. Brant caught 3 yesterday-two shorts and one around 80". Wally on the "Fish Whisle" out of southport got a 94" and my buddy Patrick on the "Twister" got one about 82". Heard a couple other fish were killed and a couple lost. Talked to Brant on the boat phone a few ago and they had got one short fish so far this morning, that being the only bite he had heard of. Hopefully the bite will continue & pick up after this front moves through. I'll be fishing sunday so I'll give the news then.

Hey Jon, Do you have any idea of how many boats were fishing? Sounds like the hook up ratio down there is quite a bit higher than in MHC.
Why Play Nintendo when you can live it???

Thanks for the update captain Jon. Any information on where fish are being sighted or hooked would be most useful to all of us here on the Cape Fear north side. If we can get some more Wilmington & Wrightsville boats looking, I think we'll find more fish.
Catch 'em up and please keep the reports coming!

There has been between 20 to 30 boats fishing most of the nice days. There are a few being caught but it is not on fire by any means. All the bites have been from the fairway bouy on the east side to the knuckle on the west. A few bites have come from around the shark hole area as well. Hot water has been pushed in pretty far for this time of year. As it pushes back offshore the raitian wreck and horseshoe area will be prime spots as well. From what we can tell the fish are following the 65' contour & the first warm water temp. break down the coast from morehead. All the spots from 60' to 80' from off wrightville down to frying pan have not been fished much and should be just as good a place as any. I know of a couple hooked around the 30-30 as well as one killed on the dredge wreck a few days ago so who knows where all these fish are holding & moving through.

My brother caught a 73" and pulled the hook on another one near the knuckle bouy yesterday.

Probably not because I'm fishing 3 days next week in the ASA tournament in VA so I gotta work a day or 2 the first part of the week. Scott will be out there- I think he just joined the site as "stickman" so I'll tell him to post his report.
