Sorry about not putting up to many report lately, been fishing alot, so i guess that a excuse.
But finially, ive got some time.
On friday, i fished with TomAKA Chasin Tale, we left OC at 4 O early, and headed for the deep of the baltimore. Target was tunas, and possibly a mawlin.
Got to 50 fathoms just inside the tip and set the spread out. Worked our way to the deep, once we got to the tip in about 100 fathoms the water cleaned up nicely, and there was a pretty large fleet of boats that were fishing the MA500, so i knew we were in a pretty good area. Well with no knock downs by 10, we decided to try the notch and work are way to the deep. The spread was changed and the dinks were deployed,a long with a wide range, about a hour later the right long pops, feed him, and norhting, leader comes back scratched up
0-1, about an hour later, the flat line pops and gives a twich, i run over and feed him, just then the short pops, tom nails him and its on, nice size white one is tail walking, just as quickly as it happened, it fell apart, the mainline broke
. Ended up working are way out to 500 fathoms with nothing to show, whent back inside at the end of the day to find nice size yellowfin jumping everywhere on a very nice weed line, couldnt get the dam things to eat anything.
Oh well, still another day on the ocean, Thanks again Tom, had a ball, and cant wait till next time.
Saturday- Left indian river at 4:30 with a charter, heading right back out to the baltimore to see if we could find another mariln, sadly, about 65 miles out one of the engines took a shit, turn around and limp home doing 8 knots
Kinda of a bad luck weekend, but, well be right back at it in another couple of days.
