Freds Superbars

I have been trying to purchase some spreader bars from Fred Archer. Anyone know how to get a hold of them. I have called and emailed Bob Melville in California although the phone just rings without an answering machine. Any suggestions ? Thanks

Bob no longer works with Fred.

You need to contact Rick at goose11@cox.net

He is a great guy and has been a lot of help to me.

The only YFT I caught on my weekend canyon trip was on one of his bars.

They work great.

Good luck.

I got a hold of fred by sending him a PM, then he sends the catalogs and then you send the order to him or rick, not sure, they are great guys though, sent my bars before I had even paid them so i could take the bars on my next trip.

I just found out that Rick is no longer with Fred. He told me that he is fowarding all of the emails he gets to Fred so if you already sent it I'm sure he will get it.

You could do the PM thing as listed above.

Sorry about the bad info.

SEA DOG ET AL.

SORRY FOR ALL OF THE CONFUSION. YOU MIGHT SAY THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN UP IN THE AIR SOME LATELY...AND THAT WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT!

MY MASTER RIGGER FROM MANY YEARS AGO HAS POPPED UP AGAIN AND HE WILL START TO ROCK AS SOON AS WE GET OUR INVENTORIES AND TOOLS BACK. I AM TIRED OF AND APOLOGIZE FOR ALL OF THE FALSE STARTS LATELY, BUT NOW THAT SEBASTIAN IS BACK, THINGS WILL BE FAR DIFFERENT. I'VE KNOW THIS MAN FOR 22 YEARS NOW. HE IS A HIGHLY SKILLED RIGGER AND AS BIG A PERFECTIONIST AS I AM AND JUST AS TOUGH (OF COURSE, I'M NOT TOUGH ANYMORE) AND DEMANDING OF HIMSELF AS I AM OF MYSELF. I AM THRILLED TO HAVE HIM BACK.

SO, GIVE US A WEEK OR SO AND WE'LL GET 'ER GOING AGAIN.

AND MEANTIME, THE BELOW IS JUST ABOUT READY TO HIT THE DOCKS.

OOPS,

GOT SO EXCITED I FORGOT TO NOTE THAT BOTH ANDERS AND GOTTAFLY HAVE THE CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS LISTED. BOTH HAPPEN TO BE VERY GOOD GUYS, BY-THE-WAY, NOT TO MENTION BEING TOP ANGLERS.

I MENTIONED OUR NEW WEBSITE A WHILE BACK. SORRY TO SAY, IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. WE ARE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN. (SIGH), ONE OF THESE DAYS WE'LL GET INTO THIS CENTURY, I HOPE!

THANKS AGAIN ALL. CATCH 'EM UP!

Super bars

Hi Fred,

Glad to hear that things are coming together.

I truly appreciate the info that you sent down to me recently in little old New Zealand and with the Game season only another couple of months away Ill be targeting the 1st run of YFT late November then into the Striped and Blue Marlin.

My order is not far away, the only issue I have is what to run, Marlin or Super bar and what colours ?. There has certainly been a lot of info to digest out of the E Book etc.

Thanks again

LANCE,

I KNOW IT'S TRADITIONAL HERESY, BUT FORGET ABOUT COLOR, UNLESS IT'S BLACK AND SOMETHING OR WHITE AND SOMETHING. THE KEY IS TO MATCH THE SIZE OF THE PREDOMINANT PREY OF WHAT YOU ARE AFTER. THE SECOND LARGEST KIWI STRIPER CAUGHT LAST YEAR CAME ON A SUPERBAR WITH 9" TEASERS. THAT MIGHT BE A GOOD PLACE TO START.

CHRIS,

THANKS, PAL. I SEE THAT YOU ARE STILL FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT AS FAR AS BILLFISH RESOURCES ARE CONCERNED. GOOD ON YA. I'D JOIN IN, BUT I AM UNABLE TO BE AS RESTRAINED AND POLITE AS YOU ARE. THE HANDWRITING IS ON THE WALL AND SOME PEOPLE ARE TOO DAMNED, UH, WELL, LEMME SEE, UMMM - AH, YOU SEE WHY I CAN'T JOIN IN?

GOOD TO HEAR THAT YOU AND HAL ARE STARTING SOME BAR BRAWLS. HE SURE IS A FINE MAN AND IT'S AN HONOR TO KNOW ONE LIKE HIM. YOU TOO, TOUGH GUY! STAY AFTER 'EM!
