    Fluke Baits, Whats your Favorite?

Got Fluke on my mind today for some reason, more than 3 months away from the season here in NJ. But I'd like to hear the different opinions from along the coast.

Back Bay we would use and sell alot of

    Atlantic Silverside

Menidia menidia also called spearing, slender minnow-sized with silver striped on the side, yellow-tan coloration. What we carry is frozen spearing, but during the summer/fall, they can be caught in the creeks, lagoons, and bay shallows with a cast net. An alternative bait to minnows when fluke fishing, also used to catch snapper blues in the lagoons during the summer/early fall.

Berkley Gulp New Penny Took over in the last few years along with Pink curly tail grub

    Killies, Minnows, Minnies, mummichugs

Squids Cut soaked in shedder oil added to a hook with a minnow on it
All the above have been good baits for the back bay and inshore waters

    DEEP WATER

    Smelts or Peruvian Spearing

    Strip Baits,
    Fluke Belly Or Fluke Ribbons

Freash Bluefish, Bonnito, False Albacore, Even Tuna Blood line

Ok there's some of the baits I've used or have seen used I know there is more but what say you guys. Thanks

fluke belly is great they strip out extremely well and can fish it for a while, new penny shrimp and chartreuse 4" swimming mullet as well as the 6" grub get the nod very often.

The peruvian smelt are also extremely good and catch a lot. dont forget your spro bucktails, i use a different brand but the same ultra minnow. i fish 4-12oz when necessary.

Anything looooong and with some action to it!
Tube squid strips, sea robbin strips, salted mack strips even fillets of leftover bally from your last tuna trip.
Fluke are sight feeders so you got to get their attention first.

When I was younger I use to catch flounder and weakies on strips of an old white t-shirt hung right off a wide gap hook.....Like the others said, the long strip-bait type of action is what I believe triggers these fish best second to live bait.
