    Flourocarbon Color???

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but not all flourocarbon is clear'ish. Some of it has a powdery/hazy white look to it, while other brands have that weird clear yellow look to it.

I did the sink test with two different pieces and the clear yellow looked much better to me, than the hazy white.

    ????????????

It appears to me that not all flouro is created equal, just because it says flouro on it, doesn't mean "better" to me.

I personally would be more comfortable with a fresh piece of clear mono, than the hazy white flouro.

I think I got some Yo-zuri vanishing/disappearing pink at home. I haven't tested it but, I'm kinda with you, if it aint clear I don't want it. I read a post that said red is the first to vanish so I got some pink, pretty close to red, thinkin it may be better. Still haven't tested so I don't know yet.

I just bought some Seagar which I read was supposed to be some good chit, and high$$ too, and it had the hazy white dusty finish, not sure what the deal is, and I havn't had enough time with it in the water to decide if it works or not.

The pink is in a whole other category, that "for me" is largely untested and unproven, therefore unreliable. I'm more comfortable and confident in clear (and now only the dirty clear flouro)

Several charter captains in Puerto Vallarta swear by the Yo-Zuri Pink. Most "clear" fluorocarbon will have a slightly yellow tint, Seaguar, and Blackwater appear almost the same color in bulk. As for the dust, apply some isopropyl alcohol to a lint free cloth and wipe down the fluoro leader.

It's true that the color red disappears underwater. The only problem is, red looks brown underwater. And the only problem with that whole idea is, that is how WE see it...not the fish.

I agree with the noble Basil and can show many pics of 200lb+ YFT caught on the pink yo-zuri floro.......we fish it frequently in PV, usually under clear skies and lots of sun. Stuff works great....

I think everyone is missing the point of this thread.

I was really only wondering about the differences in the clear.
