Oooh... I saw my clickie dot...

Admin and Tim its all about synergy. I see SFC as a hell of a medium for exposure. Possibly the best there is. I also see that there is synergy involved with attention drawn back to this place when worked right. A recognized name posting will bring hits back to the site. So its a win win for both of you...

Fact is I don't mind a lot of things. If you were stealing my people with bullshit posts to go there then yes I would.
But fact is we have worked very hard to keep this place very open with freedom of speech. Sadly people just don't understand the difference between spam and a good post. Well actually they probably do but will fight all day long and say it was not.

Dave Farrell I love this dude he is a great guy and funny as hell.
    Now moving on.

YOU JUST SAID SOMETHING ,, AND TO BE HONEST THIS IS WHY THE INDUSTRY IS VERY SLOW TO WORK WITH COMPANIES LIKE US..

    LOOK AT WHAT YOU SAID.
Dave Farrell, actually called me and in so many words, said we would like to do a story on your company in our new products area as I hear the name Canyon Gear almost weekly. I did not call Marlin to push them to "write us up", so to speak. To me, it's a sign we kinda made it, in a selfish way.

The line in blue is why our support has been crap for years.

You all have been trained to believe that if you want to be someone in this industry making it into marlin or sport fishing will accomplish it.
Fact is you all think its the place to be.
    And that is your right.

After spending 10 years working full time online, I have learned that if a site is build right and the eyes that read the site are good then the over all branding from the web is incredible. Choose the wrong website and you no doubt could spin your wheels.

Now from Marlins Media Kit here is 2 images of the reach you get from it.
Im sure its very qualified since its been around for ever.
    But
Ask your self this how did people hear about you.
Where did you launch your company? On the web ?
Not just sportfishermen but i'm sure many sites.
I'm going to guess Dave saw you on the web or someone who saw you on the web told Dave.

So ask yourself this What was the real thing that got you into that magazine? What launched you?

I know in my heart SportFishermen.com has the consumers so do a couple other great sites.
The corporations still will tell everyone print is king because lets face it they don't know how to run websites.
Maybe one day Ill get to work with companies like that to help produce better content for the world but fact is this whole industry seems to want to work alone.
Imagine if all Daves articles got published here I bet the reader ship would be incredible......

Below the circulation of marlin i'm posting my work.
    Look closely at our traffic.
If sportfishermen.com was built wrong our traffic would be all of the place. These images are for 1 year and from Google.
Look at our marketing and look at our readers.
Think they are buyers? Think we have a great hold on this industry. So in my mind you already are making it buy being on sites like this.

Marlin circulation from the 2010 media kit.

Now Sportfishermen.com from Google. Attached Thumbnails

Deep those maps are why x group of people have kicked ass from this site. Also the reason we are pushing so hard any more as we have the demo graphics and have for years.

No doubt its a true launching platform.

No grosser than bring the magazine back out of the bathroom...

These days, the only subscription fishing mags I get are Big Game Fishing Journal and In the Bite - I'll occasionally pick up a Marlin or Sport Fishing - but that is happening less and less..

Quite frankly - recently a lot of the content in the two seems to be rehashed - the boat reviews look to be posted in both and even though some of the boats are really pretty - Not every boat is the greatest thing out there...
