For those of you not familiar with big game fishing in Bermuda, we have great fishing all year but our charter season coincides with tourist season. We have done 25 trips since March 30th and the wahoo bite has been on. Nice size fish in the 35-60lb range - 5 to 15 per day. The yellowfins have been elusive but we are hopefull they will show up for May and June. Got a nice whitey about 80lb which is a little early for them typically they are here in June and July. Had some billfish playing with the spread a couple of days in April but couldn't tell if it was a blue or more whities.
May and June is great fishing here with wahoo, tuna, dolphin, bonita, white marlin.
July and August are the best months for blue marlin and it is not uncommon to catch fish over the 500lb mark and certainly a grander or two are caught ever year.
In early August we also get yellowfin tunas up to 200lbs trolling for blues. - I average about 13 of them per year.
September and October bring more wahoo and they get big in the 80lb to 100lb range.
I have put together a special package in May for 2 or 3 days of fishing for a group of 2 or 4 anglers. The dates are May 14 - May 18 - all prices include airfare based on leaving JFK, 3 or 4 nights accommodations, charter rate, airport transfer, transport to and from dock, lunch on fishing days, and TShirts. For 3 days fishing for 2 people $3,168 each or for 4 people $1,835 each. For 2 days fishing for 2 people $2,263 each or for 4 people $1,384 each
I will also be putting packages together for August 6 -10 and August 21-25.
We do not group people together as it is too difficult to manage so if you and a couple of friends want to try out fishing in Bermuda it takes less time to get here from NY than to the canyons - only 1 1/2 hour plane ride and 25minutes from leaving the dock you will have lines out.
Hope to see you soon
