    FISHING REPORT 4/27

We made it down east late saturday night in order to fish Sunday. After a nice ride out we set them out in 72 degree water with scattered grass and tons of flyers. It didn't take 10 minutes to put the first gaffer in the box!

In the next hour we had a steady stream of dolphins coming over the gunnel.

After the bite died down we decided to try and deep drop on some bottom we had marked earlier. First two lines down yielded pinkies, BIG PINKIES, 23 and 22 inches!

Then we had a very large Manta ray come show off around the boat for a few minutes.

Jacky had to dodge the manta while fighting a grouper and Patrick did the same with a sand tile on the line.

We ended the day missing a very big wahoo close to the boat.
    Final tally
10 Mahi's, 1 Scamp grouper, 7 Red Porgies, 1 sand tile, our muscles limit of amberjacks and almacko jacks, and other bottom fish.

Beautiful colors on the gaffer! Good fishing from the MM crew, as we have come to expect! "Mixing it up" fishing is really the best!
Please tell us about the wahoo. Did he come looking around the boat while you were bottomfishing? Did you hook him up? Over the years I have seen a few wahoos come around the boat and have been able to feed and catch a couple. I never go out there without a wire rig on a heavy spinning rod any more.

SeaBicuit, we hooked him trolling a Manns stretch 30 we did not change the treble hooks on it and ended up paing the price. He opened up the hook when we took the leader

Chalk another one up for the MM crew. Those pinkies look like they are on steroids. Thanks for another great report and pics. Congrats to all.

Glad to hear there were flyers down there. Fished out of OI on sunday and there were very few flyers at all and the fishing reflected the lack of bait.
