Fishing off of Iran

One of my friends that I canyon fish with recently was located to Dubai. He was freaking out that he wouldn't be able to fish. He works for Raytheon, and Hawker Beechcraft, and I guess he found some water out there. Sent me these while he was fishing in Oman on the border of Iran. He's a crazy F%$K being out near where the British hostages were taken. I thought I loved to fish, this is taking it to a new level. Looks like a nice place, LOL

It just goes to show- the sickness knows no bounds! No matter where you are, you'll find a way to catch something if you really want to.

I fished out of there while on deployment last year. We wore out the sail fish and caught some guitar fish on the bottom. I've spent more time there that I like to think about on por calls during various deployments.

Johnny, I don't mean to give you a geography lesson but Oman borders Dubai and Dubai would be the closest point to Iran. That still makes it about 100+ miles away from Iran's closest point which is Qushm Island. Oman is in the Gulf of Oman and not the Persian Gulf which is where the Brits were captured.

Meanwhile the fishing there is superb and he's lucky to be living in Dubai.
