Ray Nibert and family are about to make a return to Kona, Hi with their latest version of the old Double Dee called Hokulani O Kona with one major exception, it's triple the size and has a huge offering of services and carrying capacity!

Fishing Island was hugely popular back in 1990 when it was in the water for almost a year before a mooring failure occured. During that time the GIANT FAD created some of the greatest fishing days Kona has ever seen, including Blue Monday when over a dozen 500lb. Plus Blue Marlin where caught (including a couple of 800 lb. fish) Marlin Parker captured his 1,400 lb. Blue Marlin AND Hustler caught a 1,207 lb. Mako...Not to mention the huge amount of Big Eye and Yellow Fin Tuna, Mahi's and Wahoo.

This FAD is really going to change the sportfishing offered by Kona, now fishermen will be able to go light tackle fishing for every major Pelagic species vertical jigging, casting lures, Fly fishing and cut or live bait. This platform is going to hold a ton of fish year round (all within 3 miles of the Harbor) AND you can fish from it or around it...It will definitely save fisherman a ton of money on fuel!

Talking with Ray this afternoon they should be completing all final reviews inspections and dry dock in the next 30-45 days and then heading over to Kona, HI...They have been through an exhaustive process since the begining of 2007 to try and get the boat in place and they are finally almost there.

Log on and check out their operation, you can sign up for the UPDATE mailing from them as well...You don't want to miss fishing this FAD when it goes in!!!
