Fishing - Cabo or Puerto Vallarta? Need advice!

Hello there. Thank you for your time and valued opinions.

I'm deploying to Iraq in Feb and want to take a memorable fishing vacation before I go. I'm paying for a friend of mine (veteran of OIF 2) to come along as well.

I've been in discussions with BlueWaterTours.Com about a trip to Puerto Vallarta. Anyone have any information on them? I haven't been able to find anything good or bad. They say they use the Marla Fleet exclusively.

I've heard that Cabo doesn't get fished as hard as PV, but I have no way to know other than what biased parties tell me.

Any info or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

-Matt

Thanks Gottafly

All I know at this point is that I'll be somewhere in the south. I'm an infantry officer.

Thanks for the replay back Matt. Gods speed and thanks for doing what you do... You are added to our prayers and have a great time in PV, where the women and fishing are both HOT!...

Fish with Josh T.

Hey Matt,
Best of luck on your tour and God be with you.

PV or Cabo

Both are excellent for one shore activities, Cabo is more compact and easy to navigate and get around on shore, PV is a little more spread out but PLENTY of fun.
Fishing in PV has much, much less pressure, Bigger Yellowfin and Blue/Black Marlin on a regular basis and an easy ride to the fishing grounds. Cabo can have excellent Striped Marlin fishing if you like that but more water to cover to find the hot bite normally.
Contact Josh for the inside scoop, fish with him if possible or if he is booked he can lead you in the right direction.
Good Luck,

If you go to Cabo check out the Pisces fleet. I chartered the Tracey Ann on my honeymoon. We did two trips and each trip we caught two Striped Marlin and saw a bunch of others. We also caught Dorado and small yellowfin. This was during the off season. It was only like 700 bucks to charter and its a 31 bertram. I highly recommend them.

Matt, if you go decide on Cabo drop me a line when you going I would be more than please to take you both out on my boat gratis ( just bring your willing able bodies) for some fun fishing provided we can work on the dates you interested.
