Fishing Barbados
I am making a trip to Barbados in early January and would like to find a charter for a day or two of fishing.
I do not like big cruisers, oversized gear and fighting chairs. I would love to find a smaller boat (think 30 ft), center console with light spinning gear. Stand up. You get the idea. Haven't been able to find anything like this on the web. Very discouraging. Anybody have inside information that might help me out? Thanks |

I was there in May and could not find any boats that I would consider chartering. I especially did not find anything in the center console range. Good luck. i don't know much about the fishery. When I was there they had a great day and caught 25, 30 dolphin.

Hard nut to crack. I have been going there since I was a teenager. Mostly surfing, but I do get the occasion to go fishing with some local commercial guys. By far better than the charters there. Most of the charters are more or less a booze cruise. Go to Speighstown and check out the guys cleaning fish on the beach. You can usually hire them for a day and go hand lining or if you bring light gear you can have a blast. Mostly dolphin and jacks, but a real good time
