first question I will have for you guys n girls.. "If you are on the rip and your up in the tower watching your spread and the port side tower buggy bar sorta slams into the side of your jaw and you split your back tooth... where do you go in the islands???... never mind that question anymore... just be real thankfull you know to pack a couple *********** 7.5's in your bag!!! (sucks splitting them in two though because you only have a couple!!).. anyway moral to the story.. don't head but aluminum tower bars, take good supply's, don't even think about finding a dentist in fresh creek andros...! well anyway we cleared customs and took on fuel in Cat Cay, crossed the bank to n.w. channel light and let down the riggers for battle. within two minutes we seen our first billfish up eating something and showing us how high he could come out of the water... dolphin dolphin dolphin everywhere. I cannot complain about them because they taste so damn good and they fight great. (if they made it to 300 lbs you'd use 130's to fish for them!) no tunas yet on the south or north bouy for us... the wahoos were bitting on the troll down and up to chub. there are boats missing out of fresh creek so if you go be smart and watch your stuff! Chub was fun we were 0-3 on the way in.. (I'd rather be an 0'-fer then to never get the bite!) had one curl it's tail around behind the boat, catch the leader and pop the hook out mid air... made my day.. but heck if I see a turtle it makes my day.. the white marlin are thick and fun to catch and seeing the owners sons catch, wire and let go live fish made my trip. The bottom fishing was great as always and we caught some nice 30 lb black groupers and muttons along with some real nice yellowtails. we caught, cleaned, bagged and gave away so many fish.. made my trip seeing old friends again and fishing with an awesome family. got back to ft lauderdale and had a swordfish trip that afternoon .. by this time there were no advils, tylonol, vicodens or any other pain killers left and my face sorta looked like alvin the chipmunk... we fished anyway and pulled a nice sworfish off beside the boat and caught a silky shark. if you get a chance to fish the Islands ..GO!!! ...the people are great in most places and the fish are waiting.. remember a sharp hook, a good drag and a lot of line will catch anything that swims! but bring a good medical kit!!!
