Smile FISHIN FOOL - TILE & SEABASS DEEP FUN

Boat: Fishin Fool
31' Contender FA

Crew: Lucian (Myself), Bill Bogue (Bbogue), Louis Glaser & Chris Martin

Well we left the dock at 0530, heading EAST, had an East wind so we had head seas all the way out. I took it easy on my crew and ran 27 - 30mph. The farther we went, the nicer it became.

We started looking when we arrived, dropping here and there, catching doggie after doggie. There were a couple of boats working the area we wanted to start at and I didn't want to crowd them, so we continued East.

I recieved a call on a bite a few more miles away (THANKS MAN I OWE YOU ONE), so we headed over. First drift we put Many Tiles in the boat, drifted more and finished out our limit in short order as well as a few very nice seabass.

We decided to head back inshore to get some more bass and stopped at our first choice and caught some more decent fish.

Heading in we stopped here and there, checking this and that, caught a few more before finally calling it and heading home. Nice ride in at 42 mph.

It was good to see Mike Avery & Crew on the Seduction, glad you had a good day as well.

What can I say, ANOTHER GREAT DAY WITH A GREAT CREW!!!

Final Talley:
Limit of Tiles
30+ Nice Seabass

BTW: That was plenty of meat.

Here are a few pics:

I bet there are some SORE TIRED ARMS TODAY!!!

Wierd going that far and not PULLING A SPREAD!

I've tried them fried, broiled and grilled, but my favorite way is so simple it's rediculous. Boil chunks in slightly salted water, when they float to the top and are done, pull them out and dip in melted butter. MMGOOD!!!

Nice catch Fishin Fool. Thanks for the report & pictures.
If you like plain boiled fish, try steamed. I use olive oil and soy sauce to wet the fillets and steam on a bed of scallions and ginger. Squeeze of lemon when done.

Nice fishing with you out there Lucian. That spot we were fishing was loaded with a nice class of tiles.

We had some tonight, some fried and some steamed. I really like the steamed. Has the texture of crab and with some drawn butter has all the satisfaction of eating crab without the hassle.

Mike:
Same here, good to see you on the water as well. It's always nice to see familiar faces, especially that far offshore.

I gave some to my cousin and he called me a little while ago estatic over the flavor, he fed his family (kids and grandkids). I am saving him some more fillets.

Tomorrow night I'm having a very large Whole Cleaned Seabass lightly fried/sauteed served with a fresh lemon wine sauce. MMGOOD!!!! I can't Wait!!! Yes I'm also cooking tilefish,

Thanks for the great report. It really got my mouth watering. What was the closest you found the seabass? I'm wondering how far they've moved in.

The closest we've tried so far is 25 miles and they were nice quality fish. I would guess they are much closer than that.

Nice mess of fish there Lucian. You're gonna have a full freezer before the offshore season even starts!

Bill:
The freezer is full, I'm eating everything I can. I am giving fish away to my family and good friends.

It's time for a change of pace, it's time for Palagic Plunder!!! The boat is READY, just need the weather and water. This year I plan on releasing a lot more fish and using much lighter tackle, it's all about the challenge.

I see you're heading SOUTH to Morehead, I think you'll find all the BLUE WATER you need down there. I hope Garrett is on that trip, I love to see kids cranking on BIG FISH.

Remember to pull some NAKEDS, I've seen some reports of a few White Ones caught off Hatteras lately.

Looking forward to the report.

Lucian
