These "Scientists" Are A Front For Pew

Take this so-called scientific report with a large bag of salt. This group is just a front for the Pew Oceans Commission. And POC is packed with for-sale hacks who will spout whatever the Pew Foundation tells them to. The Pew Foundation receives billions from the Pew Family of Phila/Radnor Pa that owns the Sun Oil Co (Sunoco). Obviously, with the Pew Foundation calling the shots, these environmental groups aren't going to say that oil pollution is a problem. Of course, the ocean's problems are from overfishing... Yeah, right.

I will concede that other countries ARE overfishing but unfortunately folks here in America don't here from the media that American fisheries are highly regulated and kept from overfishing too much.

supply and demand does drive the issue. Look at bluefins. High prices increased fishing efforts. And this on a spcies that has been known to be at risk for decades. For the last two years there have been few bluefins caught off New England, the reported catches and sales are less than 10% of the quota the US has. Each year for the past several years there have been fewer and fewer bluefins caught off the Carolina Coast. 10 years ago you could chum the fish up rather easily now its a trolling effort and each year the really good days are fewer. Its not just fishing pressure on the bluefin that it causing the scarcity. Herring fishing or overfishing in New England is thought to have had an effect on the bluefins feeding habits and they are not there in the numbers of just a few years ago. Pollution plays a role too. We shall see what this Carolina season brings but if last year was an indicator then it should be a little worse than last but we may be surprised.

We know what problems we face in the future. The question is how much Money are we going to pay to see the future. Kick the NMFS out and re-arm with real people concerned with you interests
The truth has never been spoken so eloquently as flatbottom has, washington is a money machine, hence why NMFS is under the commerce department, yes the commerce department. Now im starting to get my panties in a bunch about this subject. Have we as sportfisherman sinned, yes there was a time back in the old days that we did, however, we are very careful and diligent about what we take from the sea, we teach our children to be careful, is it up to size, etc. We follow the rules. However the longliners indescriminately kill everything in their path.

With this in mind, the money behind the scenes is starting to feel our outrage, now all these " scientific surveys" appear. The probably most appalling thing is the senators , with the exception of one, who sit on the commerce subcommitte are all from fishing states.

Now damnit , this has to end, we need to do something and have our voices heard, maybe it won't account for a hill of beans, but if they don't hear us, things will most certainly never change.

Deep if you read this , you have my word , i will do whatever you ask me to , to help in this project.

That doesnt make any sesnse. Let they go out as much as they like. But limit what they kill if you want. I think the commercial guys do all the damage more than us.
