thats right ralph. That is the only reason we don't fly meat fish flags. its an invitation to be boarded. But there are no rules. BUt for the most part it has always been explained by the pros to me that the line up was always Blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, dolphin, shark. Dont know where the sword fell in but I am sure it was top 3. release upside down but recently i have seen releases flown right side up since no one kills billfish anymore. this is mostly in foreign countries.

The "next day" rule varies on where you are, just as all the other "rules" do.
Buy the flags, fly them if you want. Keep the fun in the sport.

I have had people on my boat who have never caught offshore fish before and have always seen boats coming through the inlet flying flags and it was a very proud moment for them to run up the flag. As far as i am concerned you do what you want too, but also be prepared to take a lil crap too, as long as its all in good fun

I like to see the flags fly (1 per species), it gets me pumped for the next day when I pull into Wachapreague at 11 PM the night before we go offshore.

Do what ever makes you feel better going through that inlet...i dont fly meat flys just beacuse I dont feel like getting checked but fishing is all about fun and do want you want.!!!!
