NC First week in March, anyone going out of OI or Hatteras, or even points south?

If so, never trolled in my own boat offshore (been offshore plenty, but always to dive or spearfish OR I've been on someone else's boat fishing with them), so would anyone be willing to either ride along or let me tag along behind/beside them if they prefer to take their own boat (I want to take mine regardless, just to get some time in it actually fishing her offshore).

I'd only have 4 rods/reels capable of catching anything and I truthfully wouldn't know how or what to catch w/out someone coaching me, but I want to make a go of it on spring break and figure here might be a place to ask. I can be where ever within reason (coming from VA, but will more than likely get a hotel room down in NC somewhere).

Appreciate any help, suggestions, offers to go out with me or let me follow you, etc

-Ryan

There is a very good chance I will go out sometime the week of the 4th of March. You are more than welcome to run out with me. I will be running from the mainland and going out of hatteras you are more than welcome to run along. There should be some charters running out of both inlets by then. There are a few of those guys on here that would probably be willing for you tag along behind them as long as you don't get right in their way while they are fishing. I have to find a crew and pick a decent weather day to go out then but as long as I can do that you are more than welcome to run with me. IF that interests you pm me with your number and I will give you a call a little bit closer to time.

Ryan, My buddies and I are planning a trip to Oregon Inlet sometime in the near future, whenever the weather lets up, and it could very well be one of those two weekends. As the time gets closer just keep us informed of your plans and you would be more than welcome to make the run with us. What type of boat are you bringing and how many people will be with you? we may be able to put an extra body on your boat with some rods/rigs to help you out.

I appreciate the responses. Boat is a 23' Fish Nautique (inboard center console) and I just got a brand new engine put in her, so I'm feeling 10x more confident in taking her out there compared to last year (last year she was on the original engine...22 years old).

I'll PM/post up, etc when the time gets a little closer, but I figured I'd throw this out there a few weeks in advance to try and gauge interest in OI or Hatteras vs somewhere south so I can make plans accordingly.

I will be like everyone else, when the weather breaks and I can go you are more than welcome to tag along or ride. I can put in at either OI or Hatteras depending on where the fish are. I don't know about everyone else but I have a hard time finding people that actually want to go fishing. Everybody says I'll go and when the time comes they either don't have any money to help with gas or got something else to do.

Same thing happens with diving. I could get 10 people that will say they'd love to go out with me in a month and then a week before I start getting phone calls with various excuses until it's down to me, my gf and my one buddy who just never has anything better to do, but seldom pays his fair share.

I get the exact same response. Everyone and their brother wants to go on the next trip you take but they can't go on this one.
