Before anyone rushes to congradulate me on a job well done and welcome me to the club, make sure you extend your hand past mine to my wife's. I gave her the honors and she came through like a pro. Pulled a 250# to the boat in thirty minutes without to much complaining. We caught the fish on the Gwendolyn out of The Turks & Caicos. The captain was from Cape May NJ and a fun guy to fish with, as well as being a great chef too. I highly recommend fishing with capt. Darren if you get the chance. He's got some good stories of famous atheletes bitching out on hooked blues. If anyone is a fan of The Big Leboski, that was the conversation when the rigger popped. I'll never forget that sound. Maybe the dude is good luck? Lines back in and I'm on deck. I really felt like I was going to get a shot. Rigger pops. I yell "fish on", and whell around to see a 5# baracuda doing cart wheels on the surface. He ate a 12ot. hook! The mate was so mad he scaled the fish and threw him over. Never got another bite, but the wife made it up to me. Anyways, the honeymoon was great, the turks are gourgeous, but the service sucks. It is a laid back place so I guess island life is just different. Thanks again to Darren Donnan of the Gwendolyn for making my honeymoon one my wife and I will never forget. I wish I could say I made her whole body sore for three days. I'm on deck still.
