Well lets see. Picked up new sled a couple days ago. Boss man and I shopped and shopped for stuff yesterday. Got all the basics covered.
My honey do list is a mile long...Change litterally every pump on the boat, rewire most of the 12v stuff, a month worth of work to get her really right. So where do we start? Pumps? !2v stuff? Nah... Lets go fishin!
The boss thought I was kidding with the 28 at low cruise but there it was a few seconds after clearing the no wake zone at highlands. She was a tad more sluggish than the other day after taking on four hundred gallons but at 2015 rpm we were squirtin at 27.9-28.4 and still a hundred below normal cruise...
The GPS and Radio blinked on and off. The tabs are soft. He didn't care. That grin went ear to ear as we blazed out to the mud hole. Two or three feet of chop of wind against tide didn't even get this brick to wiggle.
I laid her down in the pots on the southwest corner and minuteas later mahi blood was spilled... No tuna wanted to play but the day was still a pretty good one. Shook the dust off and not so much as a drop of spray made it over the bow rail. Engines purred like kitties...

We're turning up the heat in the Bahamas this year so for those tournies and the offshore ones up in the northeast next summer. We're keeping the one Contender in Florida for the sword and sailfish tournies. The other Contender in Jersey will be for fun fishing and some shark stuff...

What kind of boat are you turning 2115 on, at cruise? Better yet what motors are you turning 2115 at cruise? Regardless, good luck with her.

Sounds like its going to be an exciting year for you Paul. A lot of work, but a lot of adventure.

Glad you guys have your fishing priorities right.

If you guys plan on jigging in the bahamas, please let me know and I will take care of you.

Cheers.

I was trolling and drifting in the Oil Wreck area yesterday morning and I might have seen you passing by. If so the boat sure looks good. Glad you hooked up with the Mahi.

It green and was slow in the Oil Wreck pots. A couple small mahi, I lost a bigger one on a light spinning rod when I casted a snapper at a pot. I did not see the larger fish until it pulled a lot of line, jumped and wrapped the pot line....gone.

Also one false albi.

Best of luck with the new boat.

2015 on our new Viking express.. 6v92 DDEC 625hp... At 2115 she's starting to slurp fuel worse and right under 30 knots. They should be producing 27 at 2100 so I'm thinking that these wheels may be over agressive on the pitch...

Thats awful nice of you... I'm thinking we will jig on the non tournament days almost every day. The billfish take a nap mid day and we go bang mostly strawberry grouper with some reds, blacks, yellowfins, and mutton snapper tossed in. I'll burn a gross of cheapo jigs but could use some nice ones like you got.
