    Thumbs up

I do a half hitch on one side of the loop, then a double half hitch around the whole thing (sort of a uni-hitch). Some guys put a little dab of Zap-A-Gap or CA glue on it too. I have not had this not fail either...knock on wood....

Thats how we do it as well, never use glue and have 100% confidence in that knot over the spider hitch......even had one leg break from an uneven offshore swivel knot and the bimini didnt slip.

Same here. A hitch over one leg then a uni over both.

I also agree that the spider is a poor substitute and is useless on braid.

I was taught to use a half hitch on each leg then a dbl over all. I guess I'm over-doing it. Is there no advantage to tying over the second leg???

Half hitch around 1 leg, then half hitch around both legs.....then backwrap 5 times for a nice finish.....wish I could explain the backwrap but i can't..

Usually do a half hitch around 1 leg to hold it tight then 1 around both then do a backwrap. The backwrap makes it real clean and goes through the guides nice.
