The bite was good again today with a lot of short fish. Don't know how many were killed but a lot of hookups. We had Rick and his son Chris with us today from Raleigh, great guys. Went back to the same old place it has been going on. Just before we got there we heard a couple friends of ours had a double header, turns out it was one BFT and a shark, they boated the BFT. Things were looking up. While cruising along the boat next to us comes tight. Shane makes a wide turn and as we were coming out of it Don and I were standing right next to the rod when it does the BFT bounce, RIGHT ON, 0650!!!!! Chris and Rick were right on it and the mess was out of the water in no time. Chris, 16 yrs old, took the first round. I think he made it about 10 minutes when Rick took the reel. We backed her down and got over her. Dad gave the reel back to Chris to land the fish. We put the hammer down, Chris on the reel and I helped a little an the leader and we stuck her at 0715. Put the swimming gaff in her and let her swim till we got the mess back out, she hit the deck at 0730 and bled to death. I saw Marty decking a fish after everything was settled, WTG BOX!!! We were lucky and blessed again today. Rick got some good action shots and Shane is going to post them up when he gets them. Good luck to all out there doing the DO!
God I love this Job!!!
