Sit down Shut up And fish
I use the red flat beads to space the hook where I want it (usually down near the end of the skirt). I then use some chafe protection for the leader at the crimp. Then take red electrical tape (pulled very tight) and wrap it from just under the hook eye up above where the crimp and the beads meet. I do this until I'm satisfied that it is stiff and looks even (not bunched on either end). I use some super glue to finish the tape end so it does not unwravel.
Some guys I know use red heat/shrink which also works well. I just use the tape and it works well to stiffen the hook placement and make it more rugged

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Cool, I was pretty much hoping you were going to say tape the hook eye and the leader eye to stiffy it up..tri-beads work, not quite as stiff as cable IMHO..
don't think id shrink tube over a mono leader, just me, but if careful I guess you could do it by pointing the heat towards the hook and working the heat shrink in that direction.
all in all..the accomplished goal is to keep the hook where it will connect at a strike for a mili-second.

Agree...it certainly works better than letting the hook swing free. I like the red color on the inside that the beads give to the lure (probably does not mean squat but I like it
)
My one buddy uses the heat shrink and it seems to work well (on mono). I think he uses a hair dryer (his wife's obviously!). We caught a couple wahoos one day and we had bites on the GM and you could see where they sliced up the heat shrink but it never broke through to the mono
