    "In Danger at Sea" written by Captain Samuel S. Cottle is the real deal.
    I highly recommend it.

    Great question!!

    I just read McElligot's Pool to my daughters class for Dr. Suess month. Just goes to show that even in kids books that fishermen always dream about catching something bigger and wilder than before. Also shows even tho fish are no where around we still never want to leave our "fishin hole" hahahaha
