False Fishing Reports
So here is the deal..... A guy calls me this week and says he caught 23 dolphin, 8 tuna, 3 wahoo's and 4 sails on Saturday.
Another guy I know tells me he saw them unload and they actually only had 2 or 3 dolphin and 2 or 3 kings.
He goes on to say that the trip before, which was supposed to be about the same catch as Saturday reportedly, that the boat was actually towed in with fuel filter issues and actually didn't fish.
Do I call this guy out.......or just let it slide? There are some well know charter boats rumored to falsify reports occasionally for the sake of business, but when is enough, enough? This boat is a private boat by the way.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
lol,
when have you ever believed a fisherman? close friend yes, just a fellow fisherman...never...as far as the charter fleet, its hard to lie just because you have 6 people who can tell the truth and that could spread like a wildfire, so I would think that most charter caps are on the up and up.

Stop staring at my Avatar.
Call his ass out...just make sure if you do so your laundry is as white as snow. If you ever fudge a little this guy will be there to let everyone know. Or just dismiss him as a lessor man.

Crab mustard is good
It all depends if you wanna be the BS police
Not much you or anyone else is gonna do to make a dishonest person honest. All you will accomplish by calling him out is to start a conflict. So you can make yourself the BS police and get in the middle of a mess or just ignore any of his future reports and lt all your friends know not to trust them. I've had friends take charters and when get the report from them it's way off from the reported catch on the marina website. All I do is distrust any of the future reports formt hat marina. What would calling them out accomplish anyone?

DO WHAT??

put 1000$ on the table and tell him to pick a day

I called a guy out before. He told me and everyone else on the radio that he had a box full of dolphin and back at the dock I got on his boat and looked. I guess to him 2 peanuts was a box full. He didn't really care- he just played it off like it was nothing. Now he's a professional SKA fisherman.
I'd still call BS on the guy- guess I'm just like that.

Unless you are depending on his information to help you find fish, what does it matter what he does or doesn't actually catch?

I know that guy
Instead of calling him out, encourage him to proclaim his greatness to the world. That way when you hear him on the radio yapping about how he's tearing 'em up. All the suckers will be heading his way and you will make the right call and go the other way. win/win for you.
