F N LADY, THIS IS WHERE WE'VE BEEN
Running lots of charters lately. The off shore bite has been very good for hoos. This morning got the mess out and set the planer, turned to tell the crew what to look for if the planer trips when Shane says, " Rick the planer isn't set" I knew it was because I checked it. Backed the drag down and gave a turn or two, hes there. Real nice hoo to start the day. Not long after that, lt short pops, tight for a second, then the lt long and finally Shane hooks him on the bridge pole, Another nice hoo in the box. We were trapped by squalls and had to drive through them. Was a bit before we got another bite. Saw a couple water spouts that went back up. Lighting rain and wind, we watched it come but couldn't do anything to escape its path. The temp dropped 25 deg in 30 seconds, here comes the rain, lightning all around. All the crew except one went inside. Wouldn't you know it, bam the planer trips. to heck with the lightning and rain, FISH ON. Didn't take long for the rest of the crew to come back out. We boxxed three more during the squall. The sun came out and the fish got hard to find. We picked and got a triple header, pulled one off and got two. What a day, I still can't believe the wahoo fishing in July. The pic sucks sorry. I didn't post a pic of our last catch but it would pretty much be a photo copy. I guess the lense fogged up from being is the AC all day. I hat going in the salon, its sooooooo cold in there, and besides, every time I go in there something happens in the pit. I've been threatened to be locked in there, and today they kept asking if I had to go take a dump. Ill go ahead and put it out there now. I gaffed a hoo, brought him in the boat. While trying to put him in the box he flopped off the gaff perpendicular to the box, I swung my arm to knock him back in the boat and back in the water. The man in the chair did it perfect. Slowly pushed up the drag slowed him down and back to the boat and that was the end of him, head first in the box, SLAM DUNK!!! I"LL SHOW YOU YOU SOB!! Had a ball, 8 hoos and a bailer, the crew was great, Shane put us on em and we did the rest.
God I love this job!!!!
Pic next

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
I think I see why you guys got the new boat - Had nothing to do with fishing - it is all about the Air Conditioner

Way to go guys, I saw how much fun it was to fish with you guys on a nice day, I can only imaging what fun it was in the slop with the hoos chompin'.
BTW Rick, I'm no maritime expert, but I think most a/cs have a thermostat. Maybe if you keep the ballyhoo in a freezer instead of on the salon deck you could raise the temp in there
!
Glad you guys are having success on the new ride. I look forward to fishing with you this weekend.

And all this time we thought that you were just a pretty face
Pretty work boys, pretty work.
I believe that you two could catch fish if all you had a paddle, a floating pallet and a couple of hand lines!

Thanks guys. Lou, don't be giving up our secrets, the paddle and pallet thing, where he dumps me and the pallet off then comes back and trolls around me.
