EPIC REPORT!!!

Why is it that EVERY report these days seems EPIC!!!

Is it because folks only post their good reports?

To be honest, I personally would rather read an honest report of the day, than nothing at all.

To me it seems that if folks go out, catch enough for dinner and have a good time....thats good enough.

Has the internet killed the Honest Report? Its troubling.

Not at all. But after reading report, after report, after report of killing and releasing, releasing and killing....if folks go out and have a normal day of fishing they are dissapointed.

Thats funny Sea Draggin. To be honest, I've posted some of my reports from this season that weren't quite up to par just so everyone else could have a real-time report for the specific area. I keep it reel! I do however know of many boats that are out there every weekend chasing em down and come home emptyhanded and don't say a thing on SFC! I guess everyone wants to think that they're a superstar. I also stopped reporting as much for the last month or so because of the bulls*%t that we've had to put up with in our New England forum. Too bad but it seems that a few are ruining a great forum. Good luck to everyone else.

The pics were missing from your epic report Jim. Interesting post though. I know i have only posted one fishing report this year and all we got was 2/3 of a king. The only other time I have even gotten to go we scratched out but had the digital camera not screwed up I was going to post a report of the zero fish caught but with pics of the net full of pogies. It might be most people don't post of the boat ride days because they figure no one will read the post.

Maybe the terminology needs to change. People could report the "epic" days as catching reports and fishing reports should be just that fishing but no catching or I went fishing today but all I took was a boat ride.

One thing to note though is we have some members here like Merry Marlin, Slip, and Sea Bisquit who probably never go fishing because they slay the bottom dwellers all the time.

Id LOVE to have an EPIC DAY to report on. The last couple of trips Ive had(PAUL at JPR Rods and NAUTIDUCK) can attest to my truthfullness, we SUCKED!!

But the WAHOO CHALLENGE is just around the corner. Maybe I can redeem my HONOR there!

I try to post the good bad and ugly. A couple of weeks ago I posted a skunk report. I'm with you I like to hear when someone has to work at getting a couple or draws a blank. I think those hard days are the days that you actually learn something. Plus it makes the good days feel that much better.

i think EPIC is up to interpation.
Some of the EPIC reports i have read were...nice trips

everyome meaning of EPIC may be different.

i have seen some reports where guys get 1 to 3 tuna to the boat,fishing with 3 guys.. break off a few and its epic????

maybe with the fishing so tough..a EPIC trip is getting easier to have.

i think if you spend 12-15 hrs on the water. actually fishing for 6-8hrs
and everyone can catch 1 fish a hour on avg.. that is near epic.

we went last week, posted the report.
for 4 guys, we had 4 nice keeper tuna. and even more knockdowns,

a long day.

we had a GREAT time with friends, brought some fish home.
it was a great trip.
i did not write epic for 4 tuna..
