I was going to ignore this one, like so many of the other internet gems I come across.....I read these posts, and like a car wreck, I am horrified, yet fascinated by it at the same time...

Capt. Fred Archer took the time to write me many an email and PM when I was looking to expand my knowledge on threshers and their habits. As an unknown, young captain just starting out several years back, I blindly contacted Fred through an online chat site just like this one. I had a few of Capt. Archer's books in my library, but wanted a bit more than I had gleamed out of those...especially in regards those mysterious whiptails.

Without any guile, pretense, or "marketing" Fred answered my questions in great detail. I already had his books, and he simply added to what I gleamed in them with free, unaldulterated, genuine HELP. FREE help for a guy he had never met, a guy just getting started in the business who should be paying for this information, no question.

I now use alot of his bars, and kill the fish on them. Every time I order from him, I get a huge bag of free goodies to go with it, and get a really healthy pro courtesy discount to boot.

How is a guy supposed to talk about his experiences and opinions without detailing why and how he came to those conclusions?

This guy is an author. He gets paid for what he writes. I paid him(gladly) for several of his books, yet I have gotten more for free from his long winded posts by far!

Basically, I gotta tell ya, I will be happy to be labeled a FRAUD for using alot of good info to mix into my overal game from Capt. Fred Archer.

Vinnie, I think you better tuck tail on this one, before its too late. If this guy decides to stick the gaff in you, your hitting the ice right quick.

If i was going to do anything that time of year depending on what you want to do raquel i would seriously look into going to miami.. get in contact with miss britt charters down there. great people... nice boat.. and you will really catch some sails and put some serious numbers up..

on the flip side of things i would also recommend going west coast.. get yourself onto the excel, or any of the long range boats for a few day trip..

they will provide you will good action on those cows everyone is talking about...

there are a ton of options and no matter what you choose you will do the right thing!!!!

I would highly recommend Josh's operation. guess what, it cost more to fish on a custom carolina then it does on a panga or a 1971 33 bertram. I as well as matt and probably a few others on this thread have actually been on a boat with Josh and he and his mates work their collective asses off to find you fish. Captin Fred is correct. He may be a little bit more but I would fish with Josh in a Canadian second.

I second this as well. JT takes that passion that many of us share here to the NEXT level. Very few can keep up with his desire and will to catch fish.......simply tireless. Cow tuna, Dorado, Sailfish, & huge Pargo bite should still be going strong.........although there will be a few around, typically not the right time of year for the Blue's and Black's.........but I'd be willing to bet that if that is what you wanted to catch, JT would find a way to put your lure infront of one........

Hi Raquel,

Please go to Chad's place...you will be blown away...He just got the main dining kitchen area finished and hopefully I will have some pics of that when he gets a new camera (old one broke). He has an incredible pool that you will not believe with a waterfall etc. It's all inclusive and anything you need will be taken care of...not like the 4-seasons...more like your best friend!

His captains Chicho and Bartolo are Flat out FISHERMAN...we had a running joke about them being a mess on land and perfect on the water..LOL They are brothers and go way back in Panama fishing. Bartolo goes as far back as coiba explorer days! He has two center consoles with suzuki outboards a 26 and a 30 and he actually just got a third about 2 weeks ago.
