Fifty,
I usually try and track the water and see how it has moved, and then try and determine our game plan from there. If I had fish in the LIndy before the blow and the water was moving south I may be inclinde to follow the water, hoping the fish followed the water. As far as does the water move out or in, well that has alot to do on the wind direction or the any eddies spinning off our coast. YOu can be on the 1500 line south and the water is spinning west or up on the 50 line and it is spinning east, The water in an eddy situation will be spinning but the direction is relevant to your location, If that makes any sense. We have a canyon day troll on Sunday then we go back to back on overnighters from tues into the following wednesday, so hopefully we can locate them onSunday and follow them each time. This blow may have mixed it up alittle too much or just enough, no one knows cause none of us have been out in 2 days. I think the tuna fishing will be just as we left it, Red Hot!!! Have a good trip, IF your on the Hooked Up Capt. Andy will be running the boat and he will find them if they are there.. |

In past years it got red hot after a storm passed offshore
We have always had great luck after a hurricane passed offshore. Some great trips with all kinds of tropical life and we always fished the east side of Wilmington. From recent reports I got the Baltimore would not be the place to go until some decent reports start coming in that there is a night bite there. I am betting anyone that gets out to the Lindy or Spencer Sunday night or Monday night will mug them up. The hurricane may have passed so far offshore that it had little effect on our canyons and the best night bite was up in the Lindy last week. I will be land locked for the next of of days because at 10:30 pm last night our daughter delivered a 9 lb baby boy which is our first grandchild. As Capt Phil pointed out Capt Andy will be at the helm of the HOOKED UP Sunday night on channel 71 and probably will be heading north towards the spencer or lindy.
Capt John

Thank You Capt John
The digital camera was clicking big time last night and I have never seen so many new born baby pictures as Capt Diana took yesterday evening. Thank you for the kind words and I will give you a call on Saturday.
Capt John
