East Cape Bisbee's Report

I just talked to Capt. Ramon on Dreamweaver. They just weighed in a 581 lb Black Marlin in the East Cape Bisbee's - Day 1. They caught it on live bait - small Yellow Fin Tuna.

Yahooo! Dreamweaver kicks ass. Good job Capt. Ramon and Tom and the whole team.

Boat-owner Tom Lansing reports:

"The angler was Jamie Gonzalez, 1 hour 10 minutes on a Shimano Tiagra 80, 130# Mono with 130# Spectra and 11/0 Circle Hook on a 6# live Yellow Fin Tuna. We only had the baits out less than 10 minutes when she hit the first Tuna and was going towards the second before she realize she was hooked and the jumping show began. We got her to leader 8 times before she finally came to gaff."

Blacks can be tough. If Blue marlin are Ferrari's, then Blacks are Mack trucks.

They have 68K in the bank, but they need to get back out there and get today's and tomorrows daily's. Another 136K up for grabs.

I'll report updates as I get them.

That's a small school of Pinkfin Land Tuna. They always seem to hang out around tournament weigh-ins.

Sorry for the lack of day two updates. My crack sources must be passed-out in a gutter somewhere.

Talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Senor Don weighed in a 365 black early in the day. I am sure they could taste the 64,500 calcutta money. Well, 17 minutes before line out, La Negra called in a hook-up. Back at the scales the Blue marlin weighed 366, totally f'ing up what had been a incredible day for the Senor Don team.

Day three shotgun start is in 15 minutes. If I get any current updates I will report them.
