Do you guys trim your sea witches?

I know a lot of you tie your own witches, so you make them whatever length you prefer. I just bought some and I'm wondering if they need to be trimmed, so how long do most of you like your witches for tuna fishing with a medium or dink bally?

With witches, I would recommend trimming the inside hair, but the outside on a small lure like that will probably not need anything.

From an educational standpoint what is the benefit of trimming the inside hair on a witch?

On a store bought "Witch" I like to trim mine down to 4 to 4.5 inches.

Keeps the hair from getting tangled so much and makes it run better/ truer...

The short hairs grab the long ones and make them tangle up and move less freely in the water.

If the long hair is blonde, it isn't so bad...

In my case, if the long hair is blonde I may end up divorce court!!!!!

On the witches, for tunas I like them hairy, but not so long that the hair can tangle in the point of the hook. For dink baits, I like the hair short, Just to add a bit of color. If you have the seen the little rubber kingbusters (I think thats what they are called.... little rubber hair sea witches) that is the length I like on dink baits.
