Deep's Upcomming07-08 Season
Wanted to update y'all on the goings and commings in the world of Deep C. You have heard me mention a tourney season. Well its about to kick into higher gear aboard the 31 Contender I have contracted with. After a few years off the local circuit I'm back in with both feet. I have taken another position looking after another boat also.
These two jobs are scrunching up my available charter dates. That doesn't mean I can't get most of you out. It just means that plenty advance notice is needed to work schedules. Locally the sail bite is getting better by the day and should be good into the spring.
This years island run is aiming back at Bimini by popular request. Though the fishing is not as good as Chub usually is, our passengers have let me know that over all they have a better time at Bimini. In order to produce more fish we are turning up the heat over there. A set of flopper stoppers has been added to my kit to reduce the roll of the boat on the drift and its our plan to swordfish at least once per leg. Work done on the engines after last years trip should allow me to push her harder and faster than in the last couple years.
That being said we will only have a few legs available there this season. Same five day four night all inclusive packages as we have been doing. Air, lodging, fuel, dock have all gone up but we will keep our rate reasonable. I'm guessing around $1500 a man with four max per trip. We are looking probably late April into early May.
Shark season, all weekends are booked for tournaments but I will make myself available as I did last year for hands on training aboard your boats. We will also plan on doing the seminars again.
Lure production is at a virtual stand still. We have a fair inventory of mamba2 in both sizes however, when they are gone they are gone. Teardrops will be available only in limited numbers. DK, Squasher and Destroyer models will continue to be made to order in vinyl or mylar skirt. I can do runs of 72, 120, 36 respectively for those models in fairly quick order.
At this time blue marlin class baits including Masher, Crusher, Cav, Bazooka and white marlin class baits like the Rigger Savage, Badger, CS are not slated to go into production. That could change if finances allow another shot at reopening our old facility and restaffing. If we do reopen, the aforementioned models and our bluefin blasters will likely be reintroduced.
Thanks
