A customers shark report!!!!
A customer, Stopped by last friday to gear up for a tuna/ shark trip. as we were shootin the bull and he's puttin trollin and sharkin stuff on the counter, he remarks to the effect if all this was really worth it. Rising full costs lack of anglers bait bill and tackle. He's sharked a few times and has not had to much luck. I looked at him and told him my take on shark fishing as it was told to me by and old cappy friend of mine. I said sharkin is hours of pure boredom punctuated by moments of shear chaos. He chuckled and grabbed his bait and was on his way. I didn't here from him all weekend untill this morning. The excitement in his voice was electric, after an un eventful trek to the Trunk with his buddy ( yes he could only find one guy to go) They moved into the misty blue, the chum wasn't even over the rail yet and they were puttin a blue fish out and Wham it gets rocked than nothin reel it in empty, puttin out another bait it starts gettin messed with, screamin come tight and all hell breaks loose as a monster thresher goes arborne, He described it as volkswagen buses being dropped of a bridge. After a three hour fight the two of them get her to boat side and they put a mark were her head was and the base of the sharks tail was at the stern she measured out at 18ft long not including the tail, Who knows what she would had weighed, they did get the leader to the rod tip for a release. and thats what they did. She was probably full of pups so hopefully she'll get to drop them before some one else comes tight on her. He is now on his way to becoming a sharkin junky. Good luck to all the Sharkers in Chuck and Marys Tourny, Be prepared there are some bigguns out there. Thanks Tim
