Custom Made Marlin Lures Wanted

Okay "Custom Lure" mfgrs'........ i'd like to order a few custom made lures and it'll be simple enough to make from your current head designs

the only problem i forsee will be the skirts.......... i want some transparent skirts (don't ask), gin-clear, not translucent

do any off y'all make your own skirts?.... or just buy off the rack?

or does anyone know where i might find some transparent skirts?.... or who i might ask to make some clear octopus skirts?

with the skirts in hand i could take-it-from-there and find someone to make the custom heads i want

i'd like to see if i can get some suggestions here before i start calling-everyone-under-the-sun

Many of the early Hawaiian lures used sheet vinyl for skirts - There is a thread in the Melton Forum if I remember correctly - do a search.

I would think that clear vinyl would be the clearest - you can find cheap stuff at Home Depot or Lowes, and the canvas shops will have higher quality stuff...

I was in the vinyl game for a while. Clear clear we just couldn't achieve... Got translucent just fine but clear? Nope... Nature of the vinyl itself. If we could have nailed it we could have poured clear soft heads using same instead of dumping a zillion bucks chasing that.
Our failure to really nail the clear soft that others nailed might have saved us down the line. Those that went exclusively to it suffered when it lost shape and discolored on retailers shelves... Drove a lot out of business..

On my small baits we did source mylar in clear for an outer skirt. Gin clear or slight blue or green tints were available. Drop me a PM if you want me to tell you where we got the mylar...

thanx for the replies and education on lure skirts.....

after a few PMs and phone calls it looks like i need to rethink this odd little idea of mne but y'all've given me the info i need to move forward in hopes of getting closer to what i'd hoped to achieve.......

or maybe i'll just order a coupla McDaddies and call it quits.......
