====We just got back in town from a long weekend in Costa Rica. After a fun night in San Jose our van picked us up early and had us at the beach by noon. we threw our bags into the condo and ran down to the boat.
We ran what seemed like 25-30 miles across the gulf to target rooster fish. We had only three blue runners, which were the boat of choice. All three were eventually eaten.
I got the first one which was great for breaking the ice only as a little later Brad hooked into and landed a beautiful rooster. We had one other one on that felt as large if not bigger than Brads but it swam free. We tried to find more bait but only came up with sardines.
We brought a few spro plugs down for the boat on request. Threw them at the rocks for a couple hours straight with only a few snapper to show for it. They were small. I am not sure what kind they were.
Mike tried to donate a popper to the rock pile but Brad would have no part of it and jumped into the water and retrieved it from the pile. The look on the faces of the crew was priceless. Apparantly there are a few sharks around those rocks.
It was a very fun start to a great weekend. The beer was cold and flowing and we were fishing. We set out for roosters and got 2 out of 3.
Wow, just a little weekend trip to Costa Rica. Life really is good here in the old US of A. Congrats on a fun trip and thanks for sharing the photos and fishing report.l
