Huh, same time frame same area, same thing with the whale shark, at least I know I was not seeing things.
Coolest thing I saw last year was during Shark season when I had 4 Great whites around the Hard head at the same time. Positive ID, and the biggest was probably 20 plus feet long. Amazing |

This was pretty cool. A huge shark came up behind the boat and took one bite out of this 60lb bluefin tuna.

Sweet! Should have thrown the head back over with a hook. Got a huge mako around 750 before on a tuna head in the canyon.

I've never seen any but I heard one captain this year that saw 4 SEA SNAKES off the Balto Canyon overnighter. 1st time he's heard of or seen any of those in 31 years on the water. Said he brought in all lines and got out of Dodge.
I saw a great white back in the 90s on the "Heidaway"-46ft Post. We were hooked up to it for about 45 mins...got to the boat rolled 1 time broke the 600lb wire leader and swam away. |
