we came across a line of 20 + square groupers in a weedline 1/2 between West End and Ft Lauderdale.

coolest thing i saw last summer was in between the 40-50 fathom line i saw a sub surface. i tried to hail him on the radio vhf 16....no resp. kept on truckin to the canyons pretty cool (hope it was a us sub).
the worst thing was saw last summer was a fat chick on the beach in a bikini way to small!....was going to call the nmfs and report a beached whale.

4 years ago we heard a Navy gunship on the VHF radio to another private vessel trying to get it to stop so they could board...the private vessel i guess never stopped after several attempts so finally the Gun ship sent a few rounds over their bow.
Heard it on the vhf and live not far from the Washington Canyon where were.
Pretty Cool like the sonic booms you hear when the jets fly over. I never get used to that loud thunderous boom!
I have seen jets out at the Jackspot one year and the boom was so loud as they flew over breaking the sound barrier.
We have also seen a huge turtle it had to be the size of a kitchen table. It looked like a loggerhead or something with how dark the color of the shell was. It was huge though!
This past year in the Washington Canyon we had a school of porpoises bowriding the front of the boat ill have to get the vid up of that there was a baby porpoise swimming with them too.
Later in the day there were a pod of pilot whales too. Pretty neat stuff what you can see out there You just never know

Was out trolling for salmon with a buddy in his 17' boat some years ago, when something got hooked up in our downrigger cable. We could'nt figure out what was going on, cuz we were in 200' of water. Moments later a 40' grey whale came to the surface right beside the boat. All we could say was "Holy Chit"
Those are some awesome pictures!
