coolest ... was this year in the baltimore there must have been 100 boats working a school of fish and we were the only ones catching.6 nice yellowfins and 4 whites. There was a brand new contender working the pod with us for his first trip and he was still working it at like 7pm when we left he could possibly be on this site if he is I would love to know how he ended up doing.

Scariest was the first day of the White Marlin Open ... we were getting our asses handed to us and lines out came ... we got it going like 16 knots to be comfy and we were all chatting and not paying attention when we missed a 300 gallon propane tank floating by maybe 10 feet. Our eyes were peeled the rest of the way home to say the least.

Brief Squall

Had a quick passing front come along with winds I believe around 50 one day fishing the sausages out of OC. It blew all off the bridge curtains in and every bait run from a rigger was streaming strait back from the clip in the wind, spreader bars, ballyhoo, and center rigger artificial lure all blowing in the breeze if it wasn't for the flat lines I wouldn't have been fishing anymore. It passed quick, seas didn't have time to build in fact they were beat down by the driving rain but there was about a 20 foot carolina skiff fishing near us before and surprisingly afterwords.

traffic controler

A few years ago we were fishing out of OI and it was foggy as hell and the ocean was like like glass. We could hear the boats fishing close to us but could only see them on the Radar. Then we kept hearing a freighter blowing his horn getting closer and closer!! You could hear his motors grinding away and on the radar he crossed a few hundred yards behind us.. Very spooky to say the least. Where is the traffic controler when you need them....Mark

It spit the hook about 10 yds. off and went back to the deep.

Thats about it.

the seasnake thing i don't know about. None of them exist in the Atlantic!
That's what the captain thought also!

On our way to the Hudson this season we saw a roughly 40 something foot speed boat run by us. There was a fighting chair mounted above the engine boxes, with a rail around the area, outriggers and about 10gas cans hanging off the boat. The guy sitting in the chair must have weighed 300lbs.... My whole crew did a double and triple take. We were still thinking we imagined it until we got in and a few days later saw a post on NJfishing.com with that same boat fishing the Tom's. I'll have to try and find that picture for you guys.
