Congrats to Paul Sutton - 2008 Hatteras Mate of the Year

We held our annual charter boat banquet for the Hatteras Charter Fleet - East West Tournament Wednesday Night.

Our mate for the past two seasons, Paul Sutton, was elected mate of the year and was presented with a nice plaque.

This is quite an honor, for Paul to be selected the best of the best.

He certainly deserves it, and it was a pleasure to have him on board the past two seasons.

Also, this puts a little heat on our new mate Jeremy, as Paul is the second mate of the year to work on the Bite Me. Eric was named to the honor his last season on board with us.

BTW, Jeremy is doing a fine job.

    Other notable awards:

Captain of the Year: Buddy Hooper of the Hatteras Fever II
Top Billfish Boat: Release, Captain Rom Whitaker, Mate Lee Cannady
    Top Five Billfish Boats:
    5. Tie Hatteras Fever II Captain Buddy Hooper, Mate Chase Hooper and Hattitude, Captain Randy Turner, Mate Brian Austin
    4. Sea Creature, Captain Steve Coulture, Mate Shane Austin
    3. Marlin Mania, Captain Jim Bowman, Mate Roland Mulder
    2. Bite Me, Captain Yours Truely, Mate Paul Sutton

This is the third year in a row, that we have finished second, maybe next year will be our year.

Congrats to Buddy, Paul, Rom and Lee for a job well done.

Wow! Congrats to you and the crew, Jay! To be chosen for an honor like Paul received from his peers is as good as it gets. And a boat that places at the top regularly, like second two years in a row is a proven winner. Consistency is proof of skill.
